Project Site Request

Creation of all Project Sites are subject to re-evaluation at the end of their term for continued use. As alternatives to Canvas, you may consider these tools for your program or initiative.

Faculty or Staff Yale NetID holders can request to have a non-degree project site in Canvas. Project sites must adhere to the terms and conditions outlined below (for additional details, please refer to our Types of Canvas Sites page).

Project Sites Terms and Conditions:

  • Project Site Requests
    • All Project Site requests must come from a Yale Faculty or Staff member.
    • Project Sites are not for student-led groups or organizations.
    • Project Site requests will be honored on a case by case basis.
    • Project Site requests may require a consultation with a member of the Poorvu Educational Technology support team.*
  • Project Site Enrollments
    • Project Sites may only enroll Yale Faculty, Staff or Students.
      • Project Sites may enroll non-Yale users on a case-by-case basis and may be subject to licensing fees.
    • Project Site enrollments should not exceed 250 users (if you need additional users, you will need to consult with the Poorvu Educational Technology support team).
    • Requester of Project Site will need to manage all enrollments in the site.
  • Project Site Access & Management
    • All Project Sites will expire after 1 term or 1 fiscal year.
      • The fiscal year ends on June 30th of the request year.
    • Project Sites cannot be made publicly available.
